Shop Fair, Feel Good.

The intricate weaving of a traditional Otavaleño poncho, the delicate ceramics of Cuenca, or the vibrant textiles of the Amazon - these were the treasures that captivated us during our journey through Ecuador.

While living in Quito, we yearned to explore the country's diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage. We embarked on a road trip, immersing ourselves in the beauty of the Andes Mountains, the Amazon rainforest, and the Pacific Coast. Along the way, we were inspired by the countless artisans who poured their hearts and souls into their craft.

We were particularly moved by the stories behind each piece. We spent countless hours chatting with local artisans, learning about their techniques, and understanding the cultural significance of their work. It was during these encounters that the seed of The Yapa Project was planted.

Yapa, a term in Quechua meaning 'extra' or 'bonus,' embodies our commitment to providing more than just products. It signifies our dedication to fair trade, ethical sourcing, and community empowerment. By choosing Yapa, you're not just buying a product; you're supporting the dreams of talented artisans and contributing to a more equitable future.

We invite you to join us on this journey and experience the beauty of Ecuador through our handcrafted products.
